Who we are

Thanks for meeting up with us along our travels!  We are the owners, Michael and Bennett Brown, and we have been experimenting with pizzas since 2007.  The creation of Traveling Goat Pizza has been a journey; a reflection in the name of the business. The idea of a unique pizza place was concocted in the backyard of our South Carolina home while we grilled pizzas with neighbors. Since then, we have traveled across the United States, ventured to different foreign countries and tasted a LOT of “local favorites”. Now settled in Northwest Wisconsin, that idea for a unique pizza place evolved, but it never disappeared.

The “Traveling” part of our title is really a tribute to our travels all over the U.S and abroad. Both of us being teachers, we have had the privilege of enjoying summers on the road, visiting new places and trying the local food. It has been a creative journey, incorporating tastes that remind us of those places into our pizzas. Every time we make a certain pizza we are reminded of the memories of the trip or the places we lived or the music we heard. Additionally, the Traveling Goat Pizza really IS a pizza on wheels, following along with us as we experience new places and meet new people! The “Goat” part of the title is a reflection of the farming, homegrown ingredients we aim to use on every pizza. Goats are roamers and grazers, just like our wandering wagon and our favorite way to serve up a pizza….buffet style, grazing from one pizza selection to the next.

The “mission”, if you will, of our pizza wagon is not to push out pizza. We are not fast and we don’t aim to become fast food! The Traveling Goat Pizza was always a part of our dream to create a laid back pizza atmosphere where the pizza was PART of the whole experience. The goal is to bring people around the wagon for conversation and storytelling. We aim to be engaged in our customers’ experience while delivering you individualized pizzas. Each pizza is made at the time you order; the dough- hand stretched. Nothing is uniform here. We hope that you come to love more than just the pizza. So, pull up a chair, maybe even crack open a beverage. We can’t wait to hear about your travels and we can’t wait to share our travels with you too! Thank you for  meeting us along the road that leads to pizza!
